Elizabeth “Becky” Davis

Elizabeth C. “Becky” Davis, age 76, of Sulphur, La. passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025 after a brief illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Sulphur and a proud graduate of Sulphur High School and McNeese State University. She was a devoted alumna of Chi Omega Sorority. Becky served honorably as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. After she left the Navy, Becky was an employee of Olin Chemical Corporation and retired from the US Postal Service after a lengthy career.

Becky was a devoted member of Maplewood First Baptist Church. She loved her Grace Gals Sunday School Class and was one of the founders of the Maplewood Ministry of Caring, where she used her fabulous cooking skills to head up a group of volunteers who shopped for, prepared, packaged and delivered delicious frozen meals to dozens of people who were ill or otherwise unable to provide food for themselves. To know Becky was to love her! She cared deeply for her family and friends and was unendingly generous with her time and energy to take care of everyone she loved.

Survivors include her sister, Holly King of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and her nieces and nephews, Kelly Paterson, Tracy Richard, Libby Saucier, and Terrell “Terry” Saucier. She is preceded in death by her parents, John C. Davis and Thelma S. Brock Davis, and a sister, Missy Davis Perkins.

The family is especially thankful to Kim Young Buoni, who Becky referred to as her “adopted niece” for her involvement in her life and care for many years.  Thank you also to the wonderful staff and doctors of the ICU at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital for their kindness and dedication to her care in the final days of her life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Maplewood First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeremy Blocker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the church sanctuary.  It was Becky’s wish that memorial donations be made to the Maplewood First Baptist Church Building Fund.  Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixson funeralhomes.com.
