Moody Melton Glass, Jr., 75, of Jacksonville, Texas, a cherished member of the Cherokee County community, passed from this life on the 16th day of June, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Moody was born on May 30, 1949 to Moody Melton Glass and Eula McLeod Glass in Jacksonville, Texas. Moody’s life was testament to the values instilled in him by his parents, who taught him the importance of hard work, compassion and generosity.
He was a past Elder of the Rusk Church of Christ and a devoted and very active member. His sense of humor was well known among his fellow members who knew he was always ready for a laugh. He was also very involved in the jail ministries and CASA.

Moody enjoyed holidays and gatherings and especially loved putting on huge (the bigger, the better) fireworks displays for his family and friends. He loved fishing and hunting, tending his cows, usually accompanied by his right-hand man and grandson, Dylan Glass and in recent years built a pond stocked for fishing in his leisure time.
