Gordon E. Windl, 91, of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, passed away the morning of Jan. 11, 2025, at Shenango on The Green.
Born June 23, 1933, in New Castle, Gordon was the son of the late Joseph E. and Catherine Cunningham Windl.
On Aug. 6, 1955, Gordon married his beloved wife, the former Loislee Evans. Loislee preceded him in death April 30, 2024.
Gordon had owned and operated Windl Dental Laboratory for 70 years.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church.
Gordon had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
Gordon had been the longest and oldest member of the Neshannock Township Fire Department with 73 years of service.
A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Gordon’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. He also will be greatly missed by his dog, Bentley.
Gordon is survived by his four children, Jay Gordon (Tammi), Kacelyn Jameson (Dennis), M’Liss Caldwell and Dr. Robin C. Windl (Kimberly); eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform full military rites at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home Thursday for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Camillus Church. Father John Gizler will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
