G. Keith Dolan passed away in his home on November 11, 2024 surrounded by his wife and two of his daughters at the age of 97.5 years. Keith was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 11, 1927 to Ruth B. Brookhart and George K. Dolan. He had one older brother, Kline who was eleven years older. Keith was a graduate of Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and received his BS from Pepperdine University after serving in the US Navy during World War II where he received a Purple Heart. He later earned his Doctorate in Education from UCLA. Keith’s career began as a math teacher at La Mesa Jr. High School where he met the mother of his four children. He was quickly promoted to an Assistant Principal and was soon recruited to become the youngest principal ever at San Bernardino High School. After seven years, he was recruited to become a founding faculty member at Cal State San Bernardino. Keith helped to mentor and to educate many teachers and principals during his tenure. His passion for equity and excellence was evident to all who had the opportunity to work with him. He is survived by his current wife, Linda Johnson Dolan, his previous wife, Florence Campbell Dolan, his four children, Diana Dolan LaMar, Clair Dolan Lind, Daniel George Dolan, and Carole Dolan Weed, as well as five grandchildren, and one great grandson. Keith was born on Flag Day and passed away on Veteran’s Day. He will be honored on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10:45 a.m. at the Riverside National Cemetery where his ashes will be placed in the Memorial Wall.
