CLINTON [mdash] Glenn J. McDonnell Jr., age 88, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday Dec. 18, 2024, at his home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Pape Funeral Home. Glenn was born on March 18, 1936, in Spring Green, Wisconsin, the son of Glenn and Caroline (Petersen) McDonnell, Sr. He married Carol Lynn Hong on May 1, 1972, in South Korea. Glenn was a career serviceman in the US Army as Sargent E-5 for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed going to coffee time at the Shop. He was a member of the Grace Korean Church in Moline, Illinois.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Carol McDonnell of Clinton; four children, Susan (Brian) Georgeff of Oostburg, Wisconsin, Monika (Doug) Boswein of Gibbsville, Wisconsin, James (Maria) McDonnell of Clinton, and Jennifer (David) Funderburgh-McDonnell and granddaughter Hannah (Audrey) Caves-McDonnell of Alamogordo New Mexico; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathryn and Nancy.
