Darrell Smallwood, of Eli, Kentucky, passed from this life Thursday, December 12, 2024, at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was 71 years of age.
Darrell was born Wednesday, August 5, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio, son of the late A.D. and Veda Mills Smallwood. He was a member of Pine Grove Separate Baptist Church. Darrell worked for Cummins Engine for 37 years, working his way from janitor to manager. He was an antique car collector, a race car builder and dirt track race car driver. Darrell loved going fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Wright Smallwood; his sons, Gregory Keith (and Melinda) Smallwood, of Milan, Indiana, Christopher Lynn Smallwood, of Columbus, Indiana, and Anthony Wayne (and Heather) Smallwood, of Jasper, Indiana; his brothers, Joey (and Laurie) Smallwood, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Ricky Smallwood, of Columbus, Indiana; his sister, Debbie Stanfield, of Lawton, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Ashley Hubbard, Amanda Littrell, Logan Smallwood, J. T. Smallwood, Isaiah Smallwood and Shaley Smallwood; and his great-grandchildren, Jersey Hubbard, Brylee Hubbard, Kayden Hubbard, Kamden Littrell and Kohlson Littrell.
Along with his parents, preceding Darrell in death is his brother, David Smallwood and his brother-in-law, Richard Stanfield.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. CST Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Donald Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregory Smallwood, Christopher Smallwood, Bryan Richards, Rob Ferguson, William Burton and Isaiah Smallwood.
Visitation will be 4:30 p.m. CST until 7:00 p.m. CST Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home and will resume after 7:30 a.m. CST Sunday, until time of funeral services.
