died peacefully, July 27th at the age of ninety-four. Beloved son of the late Martin F. and Delia (Whelan) Scanlon. Dear brother of the late Loy Carroll, and Ellen Scanlon. Loving uncle of Mary Jane Doherty (Don) of Hingham and Falmouth, and Ann Carroll of Arlington. Also survived by three grandnieces, Kerri (William) Neelon, Kaitlyn (Alex) Berrick, and Meghan (Conor) Duffey, as well as his great grandnephew, Will. A Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 4th in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn. Burial is Private. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 9 ‘ 10 a.m. prior to the service. Donations may be made in John’s memory to Sisters of Charity 125 Oakland Street Wellesley, MA 02481-5338.
