A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Andrew Thomas Sarver, 41, who passed away July 24, 2025, while traveling with his family in Colorado.
Father Andrew Shumacher, pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be officiating with Father Marshall Boulet, Father Mark Miley, Father Mikel Polson, Father Anand Raju, and Father Nicholas Ware, concelebrating.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Andrew was born in Crowley on July 18, 1984. He was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School in 2003. At that time, he became a part of Notre Dame athletic teams for the next 21 years where he was affectionally named “Sarv.”
He was extremely devoted to his Catholic faith, attending Mass faithfully every Sunday with his family and ushering next to his dad.
Andrew loved farming, deer hunting, and traveling with his family. Drew and his joyful spirit will be missed by his family, friends, and the Notre Dame High School community.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Jody Gardiner Sarver of Crowley; two sisters, Ashley S. Abshire and husband Joshua of Crowley, and Alexis Sarver of Crowley; one niece, Audrey Abshire; two nephews, Jack and Joseph Abshire; his aunts and uncles, Tom Gardiner Jr. and wife Tammy of Baton Rouge, Chris Gardiner of Crowley, Patty S. Suire and husband John of Crowley; and Daniel Sarver and wife Paula of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Andrew is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Elizabeth “Sis” Gardiner; and paternal grandparents, Larry and Shirley Sarver.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Abshire, Bradley Beard, Nicholas Suire, Stephen Sarver, Jacob Sarver and Zach Pulling.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Jack and Joseph Abshire.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael Elementary School and Notre Dame High School.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
