Anthony Joseph Tarsi passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 96, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 24, 1928, in Endicott, NY, he was the son of the late Nazzareno and Erminia (Marcantognini) Tarsi. He was the beloved husband of the late Irma Tarsi, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they raised a family that included their sons, Michael and Nancy Tarsi of Hopkinton, MA, and James and Cindy Tarsi of Round Rock, TX. He was a proud grandfather to Alexander Tarsi, Grant and Katherine Tarsi, James and Lauren Salierno, and Alissa Tarsi. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Eloise, Rosalie, Alastair Tarsi, and Charlotte Salierno, who brought him immense happiness in his later years.
Anthony was a proud alumnus of Bethlehem Technical High School, where he honed the skills that would serve him throughout his career. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a member of the Occupying Forces in Mainz, Germany, from 1950 to 1952. Following his military service, Anthony dedicated 40 years as a machinist in the No. 2 Machine Shop at Bethlehem Steel, until retiring.
A man of faith, Anthony was a devoted member of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life and how he treated others. Anthony’s interests were as varied as they were passionate. He was an avid bowler well into his 70s, never missing an opportunity to enjoy the sport he loved. For 30 years, he volunteered at Musikfest, sharing his love of music and community spirit with others, and also as a dedicated volunteer at the Boutique at the Rink, supporting the local community through his efforts.
