Ellen “Ellie” Canavin, age 63, of Mankato, MN died Friday, December 6, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mankato. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Ellie was born March 8, 1961 in Waseca, MN to Lawerence and Leta (Root) Clemons. She graduated from Waseca High School and went to nursing school in Faribault and became an LPN. In 1996 she married Cliff Canavin at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Ellie loved to go shopping, watch her shows on television, liked cooking and baking for others, and snuggling with her dog, Bella. She loved listening to music, especially this time of year when she liked to listen to Mannheim Steamroller. Her faith and family were very important to her and she loved going to church and spending all the time she could with her family.
Ellie is survived by her husband, Cliff of Mankato; children, Shaundra (Wil) Hadt of Janesville, Brice (Christina) Kubista of Mankato, Arianna (Josh) Larson of Little Falls, Dexten, Brennen and Cullen Canavin all of Mankato; grandchildren, Devon Goins, Caidynce Goins, Carter Goins, Zander Kubista, Teala Kubista, Tairyn Kubista, Haviland Larson, Mason Canavin, Harlimae Larson, Adira Larson, Amorette Larson and Creed Larson; brothers and sisters, Deb Roemhildt, Sue Clemons, Jane Clemons, Carol Hanson, Kevin Clemons, Paul Clemons and Gale Clemons; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leta and Lawerence Clemons, son, Kalli Kubista and brothers, Lee Maxfield and John Clemons.
