Carl Mitchell (United States Navy WW ll veteran) age 98, of Warren, AR died Saturday, December 28th 2024 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was born February 5th, 1926 in the Hebron Community of Cleveland County, AR a son of the late Joseph Lafayette Mitchell and Ida Lillian Hall Mitchell. Carl retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad with over 30 years of service, he served his country in the United States Navy, serving in WWII on various Naval ships, he attended Kingsland schools until he left to join the War effort. Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Jean Mitchell whom he married June 4th, 1976 and she died June 20th, 2019. Carl is preceded in death was his daughter Lisa Berrihill, brothers Charlie Edward Mitchell, Joseph Richard Mitchell, John Paul Mitchell, Clyde Lafayette Mitchell and Alva James Mitchell. Sisters Clarice Mitchell Harris, Ruby Pauline Moseley and Ruth Mitchell West Keene. A step son, Ricky Ferguson also preceded him in death.
Surviving are sons, Barry Brent Mitchell and spouse Elaine, Warren, AR, Joseph Carlton Mitchell and mate Ben Bonner Gulfport, Miss. 3 grandchildren Carlye Mitchell, Bryant, AR, Carmen Hanney, Austin, TX and Kim Mitchell, Sumpter, AR. Step sons Tim Ferguson and spouse Karen, Warren, AR. Step daughter Cheryl Mitchell and spouse Tommy, Sumpter, AR.
Funeral services 2:00PM Tuesday, December 31st at Frazer’s Chapel with Reverand Charles Wooley officiating. Burial in Graves Cemetery near Mt Elba by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 1:00PM Tuesday at Frazer’s Chapel until service time. Memorials preferred the Bradley County Veterans Museum in Warren, AR.
