Mrs. Carrol Brown Hopkins, 83, of the Brick Church community died Nov. 22, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. Hopkins was born Dec. 24, 1940, and grew up in the Bradshaw community. She completed her education at Beech Hill High School and at Martin College. She was a devoted member of Beech Hill Church of Christ, taught children’s Sunday school for years and always put God first in life. She was the best loving mother and mother-in-law anyone could ever ask for. In her free time, she enjoyed her grandchildren, all sporting events, sewing and gardening. She is preceded in death by parents, Bill and Sarah Patterson Brown; sister Connie Pope and niece Susan Brown.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, with Pastor Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Church Cemetery.
Survivors include husband of 64 years Kenneth Hopkins; son Ritchie Samuel Hopkins and wife Yvonne; sister Linda Mitchell and husband Joe; brother Larry Brown and wife Jeanette; grandchildren, Jacob Hopkins and wife Anna, Kayla Cobb and husband Russ; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kaisley, Knox, Holden, Neylee, Summitt; and several nieces and nephews.
