CARTER ROBERT NICHOLAS "NICK" …

CARTER
ROBERT NICHOLAS “NICK”

Age 76, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Beloved husband of Henrietta “Sissy” (Romanik) Carter for over 50 years; loving father of Robert (Stacie) Carter and Lee Carter; grandfather of Nataleigh, Madilyn and Christian Carter; brother of the late Jim, Allen, Margaret and Moyra, all of England; survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Born in England, June 23, 1948. He grew up in a working class home in Ringwood, England. A young Nick would work an early morning paper route, go to grammar and secondary schools, and spend most afternoons playing soccer with his friends. After graduating secondary school, Nick proudly served nine years in Her Majesty’s Royal Navy, before he met the love of his life, whom he would later marry, Sissy. He lived for many years in both Miami, FL, and Pittsburgh, PA, with his family. He saved lives working as a Perfusionist for over 40 years, operating the heart/lung machine during open heart surgery. Nick was an amazing “handy man,” with a passion for carpentry. You could always find him in the garage, working on some project, while listening to a local sports radio or singing songs at high volume. He loved vacationing with his wife and family, his daughter’s cooking and his son’s football games. His greatest happiness would be his grandchildren, and seeing them grow over many years. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, crack a joke, or give a truthful remark. Nick was a committed husband, with a tremendous love for his family and making people laugh.
