Charles Earnest McSmith, better known as “Pa”, “Uncle Charles”, or “The Tire Man”, was called home to rest on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2024. A veteran of the Korean War, Charles returned home to raise a famiy and worked as a tire buster for BF Goodrich, Goodyear, and Boomer Tire in Ponca City. Regularly changing tires for Farm Fresh Dairy, Evans & Associates, Sober Brothers, and many local farmers. His hobbies included metal detecting, fishing, and playing guitar at the Dew Drop Inn with Charlie Dugan. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In passing, he is reuinted with wife, Ella, whom he has missed dearly since her passing last year.

He is survived by his son, Francis McSmith and wife Bliss McSmith. Daughter, Norma Fink. Grandchildren, Jessyca Schnack, Leila McSmith, Dale McSmith, Charles “Colby” Fink, and Melvin Fink. Great grandchildren, Adyson McSmith, Aubree Schnack, Rylee Schnack, Skylar Branning, and Connor Branning. Sister- in-laws, Fran Wright and husband Mel Wright, and Mary Hill. Special Aunt, Judie Dugan. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Melvin McSmith and wife Lula Ruth Carley. Brother, Clarence Jr. McSmith. Sister, Adelma Robinson. Wife, Ella McSmith. Grandson, randson, Justin McSmith. And son-in-law, Charles “Benji” Fink Jr.

Charles was his family’s rock. He was loved and will be sorely missed.
