Charles Jeffery Aysenne, a native of Napoleonville and a proud resident of Four Mile Bayou, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the age of 81.
Mr. Charles was a devoted husband, a proud father, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend to many. A gifted craftsman, his talents in carpentry and homebuilding were widely recognized and deeply respected. His work stood as a testament to his dedication and precision, and the homes he built became lasting sanctuaries for families across the region. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially the peaceful beauty of Four Mile Bayou, where he spent countless days hunting, fishing, and enjoying the land he called home. He found joy in living off the bounty of the bayou — trapping crawfish and crabs, which he would boil and share with loved ones, creating unforgettable memories around the table.
Mr. Charles also treasured time spent with his friends cheering on LSU, often attending games and celebrating the spirit of the Tigers with his beloved wife by his side. His warmth, generosity, and steady presence created a legacy not only of skilled craftsmanship but of love, laughter, and togetherness. He leaves behind a life rich in tradition, full of stories passed down to family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Those left to cherish Mr. Charles’ wonderful memory are his wife of 55 years, Gail Bailey Aysenne; his daughter, Lisa Aysenne and her companion, Debbie Fertitta; his fur baby, Honnee; and his brother, Tommie Aysenne Sr. and his wife, Sue.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, Jeffery Charles Aysenne and Mildred Aysenne; his siblings, Percy Aysenne, Mabel Rougeau, and Joyce Richard; his father-in-law, Ervin “T-Man” Bailey Sr. and his mother-in-law, Selma Bailey.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:15 a.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Charles will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following services.
Honored to be pallbearers are Tommie Aysenne Sr., Tommie Aysenne Jr., Eric Richard, Jason Bailey, Bill Davis, and Charles Thibodeaux.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to our special caregivers, Sabrena Perez, Darnell Leonard, Amanda Frederick, Kirk Hernandez and the staff of ACG Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City, Louisiana.
