Cordie G. Manning, age 89, of Dandridge, passed away peacefully at her home on November 19, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Luther Franklin and Lettie Thomas Franklin; husband, Guy Manning; children, Donald and Charles; siblings (and spouses) Quentin (Roxie) Franklin, Raymond (Elizabeth) Franklin, Keith (Katherine) Franklin, Mary Lee Webb (Richard), Thelma (Walter, Jr.) Lindsay, Ben Luther Franklin; George Howard “Mouse” (Nancy) Franklin, brother-in-law, Joe Manning (Priscilla); several nieces and nephews. Cordie is survived by brother, Ralph (Libby) Franklin; brother-in law, James (Joyce) Manning and children, Steven (Kathy) and Dwight (Teresa) and grandchildren, Tamara Manning-Young, Brandie Keen, Makala Von Burgen and Kyle Manning and several great-grandchildren. Cordie was a member of the Maury High School Class of 1952. Cordie was a home maker raising four boys and sales associate while living in Ohio from 1952 till 1986 when she returned to her Dandridge roots. Cordie traveled with friends and family to Europe, Alaska and Hawaii. Cordie was active in the Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, Dandridge and Jefferson City Senior Centers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge on Friday, November 22, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Terrell officiating. The family will gather in Hills Union Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. graveside service on Saturday, November 23. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.
