MARGARET “PEGGY”
Margaret “Peggy” Cusick went to her eternal home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Peggy was the daughter of the late James J. Higgins, Sr., and Dora May (Reed) Higgins. She is survived by Paul, her loving husband of 51 years; her devoted brother, James J. Higgins, Jr.; and her cherished cat, Davey. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Arlene St. Vincent. Peggy was born on June 2, 1947, and grew up on the Northside of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Oliver High School in 1965. After graduating she was employed by Bell of Pennsylvania (now Verizon) in 1966 and retired from there in 1996. Peggy volunteered for a few years at Meals-on-Wheels in Bellevue. Peggy will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and an unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation will be held at Bellevue United Presbyterian Church, 457 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue, PA 15202 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial immediately following service at Union Dale Cemetery, 2200 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 2810 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 or Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
