Dorothy Carne

It it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Carne. Dottie was born in Jefferson, Massachusetts and passed in El Cajon, California. Her first husband died in the Vietnam war. On November 12, 1967 she remarried a new love of her life, Robert Carne. The two families were joined. John, Laurie, Jeff and Scott from Dottie’s first marriage and David and Cathy from Bob’s. Together they had a daughter Terri, who was a client of the Home of Guiding Hands for most of her life.
Dottie also known as “Tutu” (Hawaiian for grandma) enjoyed traveling with Bob and other family and friends. Together they traveled and enjoyed many trips to Hawaii and cruises within the United States. She loved the San Diego Chargers and Padres. She lived her life as a devoted wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. Her love of painting and celebrating the holidays will be carried through the next generations. For the last five years of her life, she suffered with Alzheimers. Devoted to her family, friends and especially her husband Bob, she was pre-deceased by her sons Jeff, David and daughter Terri. She is survived by her husband, Bob, son John, daughter Laurie, son-in-law Stan, son Scott, daughter-in-law Julie and daughter Cathy. She has nine grandchildren Nick, Aimee, Mike, Sam, Jake, Molly, Kim, Betsy, and Ashley. Tutu has left a legacy of her love for family to 16 great-grandchildren.
Dottie touched the hearts of many; in accordance with her wishes no funeral or memorial services will be held.
Donations in Dorothy’s memory can be made to the Home of Guiding Hands in El Cajon, California.
