Best remembered as Mom of the Year by her eight children, she gave them everything she had for their upbringing on “the farm” in Anderson, Indiana.
Rosalie Ann Hawkins, of Yuma, Arizona, passed from this life on Oct 16.
She was born in Anderson, Indiana, in 1938, to Lillian and Lawrence Girton, where she excelled at dance and being Head Indianette at Anderson High School in 1955-56.
Rosalie met and married her husband, Carldon “Don” S. Hawkins, in 1967, when they each agreed that combining their eight children into one family was a great idea. As a wife and mother, she enjoyed dancing, sewing, reading, and cooking. She loved to solve crossword puzzles and watch old western shows on the television.
She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church in Anderson and attended First Christian Church in Yuma for many years.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her sister, Mona Whitton; her brother, Lawrence Girton; and two grandchildren, Douglas DuBois II, and Cory Bostrom.
Surviving Rosalie is her husband, Don; and their children, David (Theresa) DuBois, Kimberly (Ward) Seibel, Mark (Kristi) DuBois, Kevin (Shawn) Hawkins, Douglas (Melinda) DuBois, Kendon Hawkins, Kris (Julie) Norton, and Deborah DuBois; as well as her 21 grandchildren and her 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
