Devoted mother of Liz (Dan) Pufunt, Sue Enright, Patrick (fiancée Annabelle) Brett, Ellie (Mike) Ryan, Anne (Mike Culbertson) Brett, Kate (Pat) Coughlin, Michelle Brett and Mike (Kara Hoeger) Brett. Proud Grandma of 24. Cherished Great-Grandma of 11. Helen was born on February 12, 1935 in Chicago, to Luke and Ella (Foley) Byrne. Helen graduated from Longwood Academy and went on to earn her nursing degree from Little Company of Mary School of Nursing. Helen proudly worked at the hospital after graduation, and she worked as a nurse in various roles well into her 50s. She married Bill on February 23, 1957 at St. Margaret of Scotland Church. Proud of her Irish heritage and humble roots, she devoted her life serving family, friends and faith. Visitation Friday December 27th at 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 3650 W. 96th Street, Evergreen Park, IL, Mass of the Resurrection 11:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Poor Clare Monastery, 12210 S. Will Cook Road, Palos Park, IL 60464 would be appreciated.
