BANGOR – James “Jim” L. Roarks, 81, passed away July 29, 2025, at Northern Light EMMC in Bangor. Jim was born in Attica, Indiana, February 26, 1944, the son of Ralph L. and Mary Louise (Brooks) Roarks.
He graduated from New Hampshire College on January 15, 1976, with his Bachelor of Science degree. He retired from the U.S. Army on January 31, 1997, after 33 years of service.
He was predeceased by his mother and father; sisters, Vera Kirby Pedigo and Margaret Roarks; and brothers, Dwight “Casey” Roarks, Raymond “Butch” Roarks, and Ralph “Mike” Roarks. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan (Pelkey) Roarks of Bangor; son, James W. and wife, Noemi Roarks, of Chaparral, NM; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Paul and Phyllis Roarks of Crawfordsville, IN; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Doris Roarks of FL and Millie Roarks of IN.
