James Luther Wright, 88, of Jefferson City, passed away March 11, 2025. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. Luther was also of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Frank Wright; son, Fred Wright; brothers, Jack, Dee, George, and Billy Wright. He is survived by his son, Michael (Frances) Wright; step-daughters, Janice Kerr and Nancy (Tom) Lehr; grandchildren, Taylor (Chelsea) Lehr and Katie (Shawn) Smith and Gavin Wright; sister, Jean (Dan) Maltba; brothers, Charles “Pop” (Velma) Wright and Clyde Wright; sister-in-law, Ann Wright; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Market Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral service at 7 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Fielden Chapel with Dr. J.W. Taylor officiating. Interment at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market. Fielden Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wright Family.
