Jewel Cole Thompson

Feb 13, 1943 – Nov 21, 2024

Jewel Cole Thompson, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered her Savior’s arms on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Born on February 13, 1943, in Pulaski, Tennessee, to Jack and Elizabeth Cole, Jewel was a light to all who knew her. After graduating from Giles County High School, she moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1961, where she began her lifelong career with AT&T Telephone Company.
In Dallas, friends introduced Jewel to Gary Thompson, and they married on February 14, 1964. The couple welcomed their daughter, Diane, in 1965 and moved to Ventura, California, where they lived for 12 years before returning to Texas. They called Katy, Texas, home for over two decades before retiring to Jewel’s hometown of Pulaski.
Jewel’s life was a testament to her love and care for others. She was always on the move, serving her family, friends, and community. An active member of each church she attended, Jewel served tirelessly—from working in nurseries to supporting building efforts and participating in missions, including aiding families affected by Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. In Pulaski, she extended her care to those in nursing homes and private residences, bringing comfort and companionship to many.
Jewel is now reunited with her parents, her brother Bill Cole, and her granddaughter Jordan Crowe. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years, Gary; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and John Crowe; her grandsons, Justin and Michael Crowe; her great-grandsons, Westin and Kase Crowe; her brother, Larry Cole (Sandra); her nieces Brenda Cox and Cay Cole; and nephew Cody Cole.
A celebration of Jewel’s life will be held Friday, November 29, 2024, at First Baptist Church, 407 S. First Street, Pulaski, TN 38478. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., with the service following at 1 p.m. In honor of Jewel’s request, memorial donations may be made to the Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Church Pulaski or The Wrap Closet of Giles County, in lieu of flowers.
Though her loss leaves a void in our hearts, we find solace in knowing Jewel is at peace, fully healed, and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus alongside loved ones who have gone before her. We eagerly await the day we are reunited with her.
