Jeffery Brent Johnson passed away on November 5, 2024 at the age of 41 in Lemont, Illinois.
Jeff was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on October 25, 1983 to Brent and Karen Johnson. Jeff attended several elementary schools in Ft. Worth, Monahans, and Odessa, Texas before settling in Duncan, Oklahoma for his Jr. High and High School year. Jeff met Rachael Nowlin while attending Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma and they married in 2012.
Jeff was a fast learner and worked various jobs over his lifetime. He worked on the oilfield Landman records at numerous court houses across Oklahoma during a couple of booms. In between, he moved to Spring, Texas to be closer to his sister and was a supervisor over the fishing department, Gander Mountain, as well learning firearm regulations. Moving back to Oklahoma, Jeff worked at Halliburton Technology on Casing Equipment before moving to Cementing field operations in Duncan. He worked in Halliburton El Reno briefly before leaving at the next oilfield slow down. Throughout his life, he enjoyed operating heavy machinery and driving 18 wheelers.
Jeff enjoyed many outdoor activities. He was a low handicap golfer his entire life. Jeff loved to fish and hunt and was very talented in training dogs. He was also very good at managing a cow/calf operation and his farm and his parents.
He is survived by his son Ben Johnson of Cache, Oklahoma, his parents Brent and Karen Johnson of Comanche, Oklahoma, his niece Aubrey Vincent of Bowling Green, Ohio, his Uncles and Aunts Tom and Judy Gargis, Ronnie and Debbie Gargis, Gary and Peggy Garman, and numerous great uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his sister Melissa Vincent, grandmother Mildred Gargis, grandparents Jim and Bettie Johnson and Aunt Leah Garman.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Ray of Hope Church with Rev. Mike McCord officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the family care of Carter-Smart Funeral Directors.
