WASHBURN – Early Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025, Lloyd James Maynard Sr. went home to be with his Savior. He passed at home peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on December 8, 1932, in Castle Hill, Maine, to William “Ted” Maynard and Elsie McLellan Maynard.
On May 26, 1951, he married Rowena Jackson. God used their 74 years of love to bless their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with an incredible example of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Rowena Maynard; his daughter, Bonnie Blackstone, Barbara Leach and her husband, Rodney, Lorrie Shelton and her husband, Craig, and Lloyd “Teddy” Maynard Jr. and his wife, Christina; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Fern Chase, Linda Brown and her husband, Buddy, Donna Gahagan and her husband, Joe, and Gloria Jones and her husband, Joe; his sister-in-law, Mattie Maynard; and brothers-in-law, Neil Riley and Bob Bell. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Bob Blackstone; his sisters, Audrey Bell and Winona Riley; his brother, William “Bill” Maynard; and brother-in-law, Raymond Chase.
He worked for Grant’s Dairy for 41 years. He touched so many lives and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
