Mary Catherine Egan, 89, of Pittston, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Wesley Village Anderson Personal Care Facility.
Born in Pittston on March 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Egan. A lifelong educator, Mary taught at Wyoming High School and Wyoming Valley West High School. Following her retirement, she taught at St. Mary of the Assumption School, Pittston. She also tutored many area students.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Brian Musto.
Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Joan Egan; a niece, Alice Musto and husband Gerard Musto; grandnieces and grandnephews; and new great-grandnephew, Max.
The family especially wants to thank Dr. Kevin Musto, Wesley Village workers, and Traditional Hospice nurses, Randi and Crystal.
The funeral will be Saturday, January 4th , with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main Street, Pittston. Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9 to 10. Arrangements are by the Paul F.
