Michael Craig Rash passed away tragically on July 11, 2025, in Surprise, AZ at the age of 68. He was born on June 23, 1957 in St. Johnsbury, VT to Nelson Walter Rash and Laura Delia Rash. Mike grew up in Lunenburg, MA working at the Old Mill. He spent his childhood summers on his Grandpa Jacques’ farm in Vermont, where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, animals, and the outdoors.
After graduating from Lunenburg High School in 1975, Mike went to Texas to work in the oil fields where he serviced oil pumps. From there he relocated to Homer, Alaska where he worked in a fish cannery. Upon returning home to Lunenburg, Mike married Karen Ann Raboin on May 10, 1986 with whom he had three children, Elizabeth, Michael, and Benjamin. They established roots on an apple orchard in Orange, MA, eventually building their dream home in Lunenburg, MA. Mike worked for Claremont Flock in Leominster, MA. for over 30 years. His greatest joy was being a dad. He loved spending time with his children, always attending their sporting events and coaching whenever the opportunity arose. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to grandson Aiden Fenwick.
In his later years, Mike opened his heart again when he met Liza Rassner. The two of them moved to Surprise, AZ, allowing Mike to retire and cherish precious moments with his father. The couple embraced new adventures, took trips with new destinations, and maintained their tradition of visiting family in MA each year. Mike’s legacy lives on through love, laughter, and enjoying the simple things in life.
He is survived by his partner, Liza Rassner; his children, Elizabeth Fenwick, Michael Rash, Benjamin Rash; his mother Laura Davis; siblings, Deborah Frechette, David Rash, stepsister Claire Peachy; grandson, Aiden Fenwick; niece Alexis Frechette and extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Nelson Rash.
A funeral followed by a celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, August 16, 2025 at:
