LONGWOOD, Fla. [mdash] Rose Marie Mills of Longwood, FL, formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away January 2, 2025 in Advent Health Orlando Hospital in Orlando, FL.
Rose was born May 27, 1933, in Marshall, IL, to Christian and Goldie Mae Murphy. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1951.
She married Terry Carl Mills on April 13, 1958, in the Methodist Church in Marshall, Illinois. They were married for 63 years until Terry passed in 2021.
She was the mother of five children, Dale Allan, Della Sue, and Stacy Jean who died at birth, also Scott (Lynn) of Oviedo, FL, and Steve (Amy) Mills of Franklin, TN; the grandmother of five grandchildren, Kylee (Josh) Esh and Sydney, Melanie, Mitchell and Meredith Mills. She was also the great-grandmother of Cooper and Bennett Esh.
The majority of her life was spent in Terre Haute, IN, where she raised her family, and she and Terry had a wide circle of friends who were very dear to them.
Her final years were enjoyed with good meals and good friends at Cascade Heights in Longwood, FL.
She worked in a number of professions in a variety of roles, including as an executive assistant, data processing and account- ing, in retail, Union Hospital of Terre Haute and the Vigo County (IN) School system.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Terre Haute, IN, and a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, serving several times as president of her local chapter.
Her hobbies included gar- dening, golf, art and bowling and time with her grandchildren.
The family asks that those wishing to remember Rose to donate to the Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis, MO.
National Cremation and Burial Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, FL 32765 was entrusted with care and arrangements. Cremation was chosen, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
