JOHN AUDIS GILL

John Audis Gill, 76, passed peacefully at his home in Coral Springs, Fl on September 2, 2025. The oldest of eight born to Audis Cramer Gill and Patricia Himel Gill he grew up in Slidell, graduating SHS in 1967 and Tulane University, 1971. He leaves behind his grieving wife Floralba Gill and son Christopher Gill, and seven siblings, Kathy Hoover (Carroll), Sally Ott (Steve), Pat Gill, Carol Cureau (George), Mike Gill (Yadira), Tim Gill (Aida) and Colleen Burns (Danny), and 36 nieces and nephews.
In his Eulogy for his father Chris described his Dad as having come from a lost generation of the well-mannered gentleman, telling Chris often “it is best to be a giver than a receiver”. He navigated through life with a soul full of kindness. John was laid to rest in a private family service on September 5.

Robert “Bob” C. Flick, Sr., age 78, of Pearl River, LA, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Born in New Orleans, LA, he attended SLU and Delgado before having a career with W&A Engineers, Lane and Co., Manufab and then a career in metal and steel fabrication. He later went to Coastal Metal Works LLC.
He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, as well as his love for antique cars.

Elizabeth Lembesis Doss, age 91, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a homemaker who had a passion for children’s welfare, working many hours as a CASA volunteer.
She especially enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and pottery, celebrating her Greek heritage.

Lyle Eugene Willie, age 82, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Born in Hull, IA, he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, earning many honors before achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After the military he worked in the oil industry with MI Drilling for 15 years, then built homes with Custom Craft Homes.
He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

Michael Charles Walling, age 58, of Thomasville, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Born in Slidell, LA, he attended Slidell High and later worked in the steel industry at a machine shop.
He loved the outdoors and nature, which aided his exceptional art talent.

Charles “Chuck” P. Walling, age 85, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Born in Correctionville, IA, he was a high-rise ironworker with Local 58, and was a parishioner of St. Luke Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Men’s Club and Knight’s of Columbus.
An outdoorsman at heart, he loved the woods and the water where he spent much of his spare time.

Deborah Ann Haas, age 66, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Born in Providence, RI, she served in the U.S. Navy.

Jerry “Doc” Thomas Fennessey, age 73, of Lacombe, LA, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Born in Washington, MO, he worked for four years at Mike’s Hardware with his longtime friend, owner Mike Moore.
Outside of work, he was a gifted artists who loved sketching for friends and family, signing all his work with “Stand tall and never give up.”

Karen Adrienne Ratcliff Evans, age 49, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany, she grew up in Slidell and earned a degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Southern Miss. and SLU, then worked 20 years in St. Tammany schools, including 13 at Slidell High as a math teacher.
She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Slidell and Church of the King in Mandeville.

Keith J. Alphonso, age 59, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Born in New Orleans, LA, he earned a degree from SLU, then a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Computer Science, working in the tech field at Geocent as their CTO, and later at Sev1Tech as a senior solutions architect.
He enjoyed traveling, especially the beaches of Mexico, and was a big fan of the Saints.
