Patricia “Pat” Ann Corbid, 83, Dorset, MN passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at her home after
14 years of successful treatment for leukemia and B-Cell Lymphoma.
Pat was born July 17, 1941 in Grand Forks, ND to Amos and Ann (Vanyo) Gust. She graduated early from
Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, MN with the class of 1958. On September 30, 1961 she
was united in marriage to Leon Driscoll. Leon passed in November of 1970. In 1981 she married John
Corbid.
In her earlier years, Pat worked as an executive assistant to the president of Cowles Media and she
served as president of Executive Women’s International. Along with her husband John, Pat owned and
operated Sleeping Fawn Resort, the Lady Slipper Inn, and Heartland Trail Bed and Breakfast.
Pat was a passionate fitness enthusiast and was interested in anything that would let you move, dance,
run or climb. She became a Certified Fitness Instructor and taught and inspired many people to begin a
fitness journey. She did Pilates, aerobics, step classes, biking, hiking and running, all with joy. She was
also an accomplished water skier.
She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids.
Pat is survived by her husband, John R. Corbid of Dorset; children, Mark Driscoll of Minneapolis, Mitch (Gloria) Driscoll of Minneapolis and Dorset, Michelle (William) Gaskill of Crystal, MN, Rebecca Corbid of Champlin, MN, Kevin (Holly) Corbid of Stillwater, MN, Rachel (Keith) Mueller of Park Rapids;
grandchildren, Ryan ( Breia) Gaskill, Josef (Nicole Jacobson) Gaskill, Bailey (Molly) Mueller, Emily Corbid, Abby (Matt) Bade, Ben (Taylor Peterson) Corbid, Anna Corbid, Patrick (Kaylee) Stencel, Joshua Stencel; 6 great grandchildren Casper Gaskill of Elk River, MN, Leon Gaskill of Elk River, MN, Beck Gaskill of Elk River, MN, Violet Bade, of Park Rapids, MN, Hudson Bade of Park Rapids, MN, Elsie Mueller of Green Bay WI ; brothers, Leonard Gust, Ken Gust, Dan (Lois) Gust, Paul (Patti) Gust, Greg (Cindy)Gust; sisters, Joanne Thompson, Jeanette (Peter) Ripplinger, Marge Myrick, Kathy (Terry) Hecht, Diane(Mike Mansfield) Hadden, Carol (John) Bloxsom; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Driscoll; her parents, Amos and Ann Gust; siblings,
Samuel Gust, Michael Gust, John Gust, and Madonna Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Peters the Apostle
Catholic Church in Park Rapids with a visitation an hour prior.
