Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Albert Sr. and Phyllis (Little) Turner. She was raised in Peabody and received her education in the Peabody school system. As a young teenager, Phyllis left school to help her mother raise her other children due to the unexpected death of spouse.
Ms. Bakula had been employed for many years as a nurse’s aid at the Newhall Nursing Home in Salem, MA until the time of her diagnosis with fibromyalgia in 1995.
A lifelong resident of Peabody, Phyllis enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also had a great love for cooking and baking. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Peter Bakula and his wife, Karen of Peabody, three sisters, Charlene Reynolds of Peabody, Carrie Turner of New Bedford and Dottie Turner of Peabody, three brothers, Charlie Turner of FL, Richie Turner and his wife, Caren of Peabody and Albert Turner Jr. of Reading and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also the sister of the late Louise Rossignol and Jimmy Turner.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
