[font=font157032]BOURBONNAIS [mdash] [/font]David John Radke, 78, of Bourbonnais, passed away Saturday (Dec. 7, 2024), at his home.
Dave was born April 17, 1946, in Kankakee, the son of Raleigh and Veronica Radke.
He was a graduate of Kankakee High School.
Dave was united in marriage to Denise Doris-Redman on Sept. 15, 1984, in Bourbonnais.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968. He was a radar man. Dave was also a member of the Color Guard. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
After his military service, Dave held many positions in the banking and insurance industry for many years.
Dave was a longtime member of Maternity B.V.M. Parish, Kankakee Elks Country Club, and as a kid, he was a member of the Kankakee Shadows. He loved the Chicago Bears and was an avid golfer. He was so proud of his record of six holes in one!
Surviving are his wife, Denise Radke; his children, Michael Radke, Josh (Sabrina) Radke and Guy (Tracy) Redman; his sister, Linda (Wayne) Legris; his grandchildren, Marissa, Trevor, Tyler, Will, Charlie and Jackson; and three nieces.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and several close friends.
The family would like to thank the in-home nurses who helped take care of Dave the past couple of months and the amazing Hospice care team.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais.
Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
