A funeral service for Etha Mae Roddy Renfro, 98, is scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. She will be laid to rest at Jarratt Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Monday, October 28, 2024, and family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Etha Mae was born to Benson Roddy and Martha F. (Craft) Roddy on September 8, 1926, in Flint, and passed away on October 23, 2024, in Gilmer.
Etha Mae’s life bloomed beautifully, much like her favorite pink azaleas, hydrangeas, and anything she grew. As a cherished member of the Central Baptist Church, Etha Mae was active in the Triple “L” Club. She delighted in the company of her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Etha’s nurturing spirit and love for nature’s beauty will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Etha was preceded in death by parents, husband, Horace Renfro, daughter, Paula Renfro, grandson, Jeremy Lewis, sisters, Melba Roddy McKnight, Dorothy Roddy Colemere, and Margie Roddy Veal, and brother, Frank Roddy.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Renfro of Gilmer, son, David Renfro and wife, Bonnie of Sulphur Springs, daughter, Barbara Van Horn and husband Mike of Seagoville; brother, Ken Roddy and wife, Joyce of Tyler, sister, Joy Kruger and husband, Cal of Farmers Branch, sister, Pert Garraway and husband, Fred of Killeen; grandchildren, Marsha Coyle, Jason, Matt Renfro and wife, Amy, Megan Geloneck and husband, Jeff, Kellie Renfro; great-grandchildren, Pierce, Clara, and June Geloneck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
