Richard Dennis Walker, age 75, passed away on December 22, 2024 in Lancaster, California. He was born on April 23, 1949, in Redlands, CA as the third child to parents Marvin and Jane Walker. He met his wife Cindy Bethel through a mutual friend in high school and it was love at first sight. Richard graduated from Redlands Senior High School in 1967 and married Cindy later that year on September 30, 1967. They had their first child Anne Walker in April of 1968 followed by their son Michael in August of 1971. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in April of 1969 where he served as a Corporal in the Vietnam War. He was discharged on August 1, 1970. Richard then began his lifelong career with Southern California Edison in 1972. Richard was kind, courageous, and generous in all that he did. He was most proud of his family and his service to our county; Richard was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Jane and his wife of 56 years, Cindy (Bethel) Walker (2023). Richard is survived by his siblings Marilyn (Dave) Morrison, Jim (Roxanne) Walker, Karen (Mike) Norton, and Patti (Rick) Bulmer, his daughter Anne Walker, son Michael Walker.
