Robert Rowlett

Bob ‘Rollo’ Rowlett passed on Nov. 1, 2024 peacefully in his home. Rollo grew up in Los Angeles as a scrapper and moved to Oceanside at the age of 12 to live with his beloved Aunt Helen. Rollo attended Oceanside/Carlsbad High School just a block from where he grew up. He played basketball, but just loved being at the beach, especially at the Pier down the street, playing volleyball, bodysurfing, fishing or just hanging out. He had many friends and continued to attend as many high school reunions as he could. Bob attended SDSU where he met the love of his life, Ann Margret Lewis. Smitten at first site, they married in 1957 and rarely left each other’s side. Rollo is survived by his brother David (Dorothy) Rowlett along with Ann and their children, Witt, Carre, Bobby and Guy, He also said goodbye to 11 grandkids, and four great-grandchildren. Bob loved to follow golf and football but his real passion throughout life was fishing. He and Ann travelled from Alaska to Hawaii and often to Mexico as fishing partners, making friends and memories with great stories, trophies and photos along the way. The fishing community lost a true legend, with the fish in the local seas now rejoicing with their world a little safer. Rollo passed peacefully with a taste of his favorite, ‘Bud Light’ on his lips, and a smile on his face. He lived his life fully and he did it his way. Good bye Rollo. There will be no funeral services.
