Ronald F. Kidder

BREWER – On July 23, 2025, the world lost a great man, Ronald F. Kidder, 78, of Brewer. He was the son of Herbert S. and Madeleine (Dore) Kidder.
Ron’s career included working at Eastern Fine Paper and later the City of Brewer Public Works, operating heavy equipment retiring as an environmental technician. He was a lover of all sports playing basketball throughout his school years, graduating from Brewer High School in 1965, where he played varsity. He also coach young players at Holbrook Middle School for 10 years winning many championships. Ron also loved golf, football and bowling. He had many friends who helped him immensely. Ron was a double amputee due to peripheral artery disease but never let it slow him down. He was able to get a modified van for his wheelchair allowing him to drive and maintain his independence. Ron was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam with three close army friends from California, Iowa, and Minnesota, all coming to visit him. He was also a longtime member of the local American Legion and VFW Posts and a member of the Bangor Elks Lodge.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Judy Kidder of Brewer; one brother, Rick Kidder of North Carolina; and cousins and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and James Kidder.
A time to celebrate Ron’s life will be held 2-4 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Jeff’s Catering and Event Center, 15 Event Center Way, Brewer. A burial will be held later at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Messages and memories of Ron may be shared with his wife on the tribute wall of
