Francis E. Shearer, 86, of Wilson Mill Road, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Quality Life Services in New Castle.
He was born on July 5, 1938, in New Castle, the son of the late Francis J. and Elsie Georgianna Shearer.
He was married to the late Myrna (Venditto) Shearer, who died on March 10, 2004.
Mr. Shearer worked for Valu King and Giant Eagle on Butler Avenue, retiring after 38 years as a meat cutter.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved taking care of his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Shearer of New Castle; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Shearer and Charles Shearer; and two sisters, Helen Knight and Charlotte Micek.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Ferree; one brother, Robert Shearer; and two sisters, Mildred Davis and Sarah Forkey.
