STEPHENS[mdash] Joye L., 79, Richland, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2024, at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born on January 10, 1945, in Johnstown, daughter of Clarence E. and Ruth (Bheam) Kelley. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, William J.; brother, Gary B. (Crash) Kelley; stepson, William J. “Billy” Stephens.
She is survived by her loving child, Kelley (Doug) Hornbecker, Hagerstown, Md.; sister-in-law, Jacqueline (Tom “Moe”) Cowan, Johnstown; grandchildren, Tyler (Casey) Hornbecker and Brady Hornbecker and his fiancĂ©e, Alyssa Burcker; great-grandchildren, Adalee and Bee; niece, Sarah Kelley; and nephew, Brad (Stephanie) Kelley. Joye was a 1963 graduate of Richland High School. She retired in 1977 after 13 years of service as a surgical nurse at Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. After she retired, she began her second career with Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1978. Joye became Sales Director in 1980 and won her first pink car 5 months later, and continued with Mary Kay and won a total of 20 cars throughout her career, retiring in 2020. Joye enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her grandchildren were the love and joy of her life and she loved spending as much time as she could with them.
Friends will be received 3-7 p.m. Sunday, January 5, and 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 6, at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev.
