Stuart Carlton Wade, Jr., a venerable figure in the business world and esteemed expert in the Self Storage industry, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 70. Born on July 8, 1954, Stuart’s life was marked by professional success, personal passion, and deep familial devotion. Raised in both Richmond and Virginia Beach, Stuart was a proud graduate of Douglas S. Freeman High School, class of 1973, in Richmond, VA. He continued his academic pursuits at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, NC, graduating with the class of 1977. His education laid a strong foundation for a career that spanned various sectors of business, where he achieved great success and recognition as an industry-wide expert and consultant in Self Storage. Stuart’s keen insights and guidance enriched the lives of his investors, who often credited their increased wisdom and wealth to his expertise. Stuart’s life was not limited to his professional achievements; he embraced life with vigor and enthusiasm. In his younger years, he enjoyed surfing, fishing, and working on cars. His love for the outdoors evolved into a passion for skeet shooting, hunting, and captaining sport-fishing boats, a pursuit he cherished for over three decades. Stuart was an ardent supporter of wildlife conservation and a dedicated member of Ducks Unlimited. He held a special affinity for the decoy carvers of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth Wade, who affectionately remembers him as the love of her life. Stuart is also survived by his brother, Steve Wade (Chris), son, Stuart Carlton Wade, III (Amanda), and stepsons Ashton, Aaron, and Brandon Beebe. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Naomi, Shiloh, and Stuart Carlton Wade IV. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart Carlton Wade, Sr. and Margaret Thomason Wade, as well as his son, Scott W. Wade. Stuart was a wonderful father, grandfather, best friend, and husband. His presence will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
