Terry Leigh Graap passed away on November 8, 2024 in Santa Cruz, California. Terry was born on September 25, 1955 to Rhoda Anne (Sydnor) Collins and Allyn Richard Graap in Fort Ord, CA. Terry was a native of Santa Cruz. He was a graduate of Soquel High School, Cabrillo College, and San Jose State University. Terry worked as a Deputy Sherriff at the Santa Cruz County Sherriff’s Department.
Terry enjoyed live music, nature, reading, movies, genealogy, cross stitch, swimming, board and card games, sports, and was an avid 49ers, Giants, and Warriors fan. He was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, Santa Cruz Deputy Sherriff’s Association, and ALMA Society.
Terry is survived by his son Nathanael Graap, daughter Rachael Graap, father Allyn Graap, brothers Stephen RudeeGraap (Cyndi) and Karl Graap (Kathe); sisters Caroline Becker and Susanne Spark (George); step-brothers Timothy Collins (Pam) and Bruce Collins (Sue); and step-sister Peggy Overbeck (Wayne).
Terry is preceded in death by his mother Rhoda Anne Collins and Stepfather John Walter Collins.
A Memorial Service will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Santa Cruz County Deputy Sherriff’s Association.
