Danny Thistle, 62, of Las Vegas passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 after a long battle with heart failure. He was born on October 13, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV. Danny married his sweetheart, Jeralyn, on April 10, 1982 in the St. George Utah Temple. He was a loving husband, father and poppy. He had many friends and acquaintances. He loved life and loved people. Danny attended VoTech High School and earned many awards in woodworking. He even won a state competition and excelled to Nationals. Danny along with his father, Harold, founded Thistle Construction in 1987. The business began at Harold’s home in his garage. Years later the business joined the DKI franchise and is now known as Thistle DKI. The business focuses on restoring property and working primarily with insurance losses. Danny was very involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings with the Boy Scouts of America as well as being the first Bishop of the Buffalo Ward in the Las Vegas Red Rock Stake. Danny enjoyed wood carving in his younger years, especially creating ducks and eagles. He owns a cabin in Utah where he liked to play hard. It was truly his happy place. He had hoped to spend more time there after he retired October 2024. Danny was preceded in death by his parents Harold James Thistle, Jerelyn Sampson Thistle and sister Coleen Thistle Page. Danny is survived by his wife, Jeralyn Cordier Thistle, his three children, Robert (Brittany) Thistle, Ryan (Amanda) Thistle and Maegan Thistle-Hanover, as well as his only brother, Patrick Kevin Thistle (Connie). He is also survived by his seven precious grandchildren Landon Thistle-Hanover, Kylie Thistle, Sadie Thistle, Brady Thistle, Liam Thistle, Preston Thistle and Connor Thistle. Funeral services will be held on January 18th, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3300 N. Buffalo Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89129 at 10:00 am with a burial to follow at Bunkers Memory Gardens. There will be a viewing before from 8:30-9:30 am.
