HARRY McCLURE
Age 73, of Brackenridge, formerly of Creighton, passed away at his home, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Born on January 25, 1951, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Harry M. Thompson, Sr. and Stephania E. (Malek) Thompson. Harry was a 1969 East Deer-Frazer High School graduate. He was a proud veteran who served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Harry worked for more than 30 years as a Park Manager for the Allegheny County Parks Department in both Deer Lakes Park and Harrison Hills Park. He was a compassionate son and admirable brother, beloved husband to his loving wife, Susanna K. (Shuster) Thompson; devoted uncle to five fine nephews including his surviving nephew, George Carson; and a great-niece who was loved, Megan (Justin Kobularck) Carson; and a great brother-in-law to his wonderful sister-in-law, Lena Thompson. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter “Waldo” Thompson; sisters, Betty Carson and Florence Thompson; and his four nephews, Larry, Harry, David and Jay Carson. Many sincere thanks to the Veterans Health Administration for their excellent care. A Memorial service with military honors will be held in the spring at the Deer Lakes Park Veterans Pavilion.
