Bridgeport~ William Gary Everett, 72, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, in Decatur.
Graveside Service was held Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at East Bridgeport Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday prior to the service at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Ray Cook, Jr. officiated.
Gary was born on July 16, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma to William Price and Frances Imogene (Harris) Everett. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in the Class of 1971 and was retired after working many years in the oilfield. He met the love of his life, Terry Shanks while both were in the 7th grade and later united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1973, in Bridgeport. He loved being outdoors working on the farm, spending time on his tractor and cherished his time with his grandson, Wyatt. Gary was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Price Everett.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Terry Everett of Bridgeport; his sons, Taylor Everett and wife, Amber of Bridgeport and Jordan Everett and Paige Scarpinato of Paradise; his mother, Imogene Everett of Bridgeport; his sisters, Diana Everett and Rozie McCabe of San Angelo; his grandson, Wyatt Blake Everett; numerous cousins and a host of good friends.
